DESA
A. ROLE IN THE HERFUSE PROJECT
DESA’ Engineering Srl are the lead of the following 4 tasks: T3.4, T4.3, T5.3, and T7.3.
They also will support (contribute to the definition) the following 2 tasks: T2.1 and T2.3.
More in detail:
WP2 (work package) _T2.1 and T2.3. DESA’ will provide system requirements installation for anti-ice, flight commands, landing gear, current return network, high voltage distribution, thermal management, payloads/interiors, fuel piping, mechanical integration of batteries/fuel cells, and LH2 tank.
WP3 _T 3.4 HER Systems Integration Concept (DESA’ lead). Contributing: LDO, AHE, UPAT, ADS-G. "In accordance with WP2 requirements, deliver the conceptual layout of the systems for integration of HER enabling technologies. The conceptual design will be based on defining the capability to integrate all the disruptive systems technologies that will come from the other CA projects and in accordance with what was established by the HERA project. DESA’ in particular will develop conceptual layout installation for anti-ice, flight commands, and landing gear.
WP4 _ T 4.3 Structural and Systems Integration enablers (DESA’ lead). Contributing: LDO, AHE, ADS-S, CSEM, ADS-G. The first definition of the enablers and solutions for the systems integration on fuselage and empennages for the systems interested by the HER enabling technologies (in accordance with what is defined in WP 3.4). The main objective is to define a roadmap to TRL5 for innovative structural and system integration enablers to reduce weight. This WP will mainly further develop concepts provided by
WP3.4. WP5 _ T 5.3 HER Systems Integration (DESA’ lead). Contributing: LDO / UPATRAS / ADS-G / AHE. Preliminary design of the HER systems enabling technologies in accordance with the first trade-off results from WP4 and configuration loop updating from HERA and inclusion of enabling technologies input from other projects. DESA’ will perform the preliminary design activity of CRN, High Voltage Distribution, Thermal Management, Payloads/ Interiors, and fuel piping.
WP7 _ T 7.3 HER Systems Stressed Integration (DESA’ lead). Contributing: LDO, UPAT. Stressed design of the HER system integration and systems’ layouts in accordance with the second trade-off results from WP6. The activity will include data and configuration updates from HERA and the inclusion of enabling technological input from other projects. The solution considers the impact of hydrogen.
